Royal Birders is a youth-led tourism and conservation initiative that uses birding as a tool for skilling University Tourism Students, career development, environmental restoration and conservation. 

We were founded to address a growing challenge in Uganda’s Tourism education industry: many graduates leave university with strong theoretical knowledge but limited applicable and practical skills, field experience and with unclear career pathways.

By engaging students in practical tourism experiences while they are still on campus, Royal Birders bridges the gap between classroom learning and industry practice, preparing them for meaningful careers in Uganda's avian tourism space.

We believe that birds, key indicators of healthy ecosystems, and birding as a fast-growing tourism product in Uganda, provide a powerful and sustainable entry point for skills and career  development, conservation awareness, and sustainable livelihoods.
